The Nidar™ Command Station is based on an intuitive multitouch display and provides a Situation Awareness Picture on one screen for confirming threats, alerting onshore and deterring attackers. It has been designed with close cooperation from leading captains and security officers to ensure that it is both easy to use and in line with recognised operational practices.

Nidar™ builds a 360 degree Panoramic Situation Awareness around the asset. Surface and underwater targets are identified and overlaid in 3D to give an immediate awareness of the local vicinity. This view is enhanced with constantly updated 360 degree infrared imagery.

The IR & Optical Camera view shows a high resolution infrared and optical video stream of the area of interest. In automatic Target Mode the system toggles from target to target, analyses each target and collects image snapshots. In the event of an alarm, the system automatically keeps the threat in view or alternates between multiple threats.

The centre of the Command Station provides a multilayer plan view which can display the integrated target data. Data sets such as targets, radar and sonar tracks are built up in different layer tabs. In operation, the user can choose to overlay complex target data sets on satellite image backdrop, ECDIS charts, the classic radar display or sonar display. Through the touch screen, an operator just needs to touch a target of interest for all the relevant information to appear.

 To the right of the Command, the Target Flow lists the targets in the vicinity and continuously analyses each risk level. Intuitively the highest risk target is shown prominentlyin the middle of the list. Further, the operator can review all the targets of relevance by just iPhone® like swipping up and down the Target Flow list showing the target's latest image, risk level, ship name, range, heading, speed, TCPA and CPA.

Besides the Intelligent Threat Classification feature, Nidar™ allows an operator as well to draw its own customised alarm zone. The operator simply taps the points on the Command touchscreen representing a desired area, and Nidar™ will trigger an alarm if an object enters the zone.

The Mobile Command is allowing a highly flexible access to the security system. It can provide emergency teams live access when entering an alarm zone for alarm verification and threat neutralization but as well remote access for decision makers when time counts. The Mobile Command is based on a ruggedised Apple iPad2® or similar devices if required and secure remote access and control is granted via encrypted Wifi or 3G connection.
